Waveriders Ride Report;
Out the bag the Aboards X Series looks and feels great with an extra touch of badge bling to set it apat from the rest. The Gold colour looks tasteful enough and the setting up was soooooooo easy - all done in 5 minutes literally!
X series 131 x 39 , 26 mph, Lancing to Shoreham downwinder, 3 to 5ft waves and chop - Straight away you notice that the Aboard X series is smooth under foot and nice and fast. First tack out and the small pop jumps needed to get out and over the waves were easy as and the landings soft and you will be pleased to know that there is very little splash off the nose.
The upwind performance is great and the rail works really well. On hard toeside turns the board is quite grippy and not skatey which is nice, the pop is great and launches you high into the sky. Hard landings are supported well by the soft pads but do tend to wedge your feet in a bit, not such an issue though.
All in all I liked this board, found it very easy to ride and the more I pushed it the better it responded. A great board for advancing riders that rides as well as, if not a tad better than the Nobile 666 and costs less - Julius 31 Dec 2007
